What Should I Expect?

Walking through the doors of a new church can be a little confusing at times, so we are literally walking you through it in order to make your first time at CUC easier.

Step 1: The Parking Lot

Enter our parking lot off Christensen Lane.  We provide ample parking on site, as well as at our neighbor, Wilder Elementary.  To make parking even easier, we have several spots identified with signs reading “Visitor Parking” right up near our main doors.  Handicapped accessible spots are also located near the front.

Step 2: Entering the Building

You’ll find folks dressed in a variety of ways, but most are pretty casual.  No need to worry about being stiff or uncomfortable.

You are welcome to enter through our main entrance, furthest to the east.  Through those glass doors you’ll find a warm hand to shake and bright smiles all around.  We call that space the Narthex and it’s a great spot to chat with current friends and friends-to-be.

Step 3: Finding Where Everyone Goes

If you have infants, children or youth through 7th grade with you, just follow the stairs down to our fantastic children’s ministry.  Greeters at the bottom of the stairs will help you find and settle into our nursery, children’s or youth classes at the 9:30 a.m. worship hour.  If you have teenagers, they meet upstairs in the youth ministry office.  To the left of our Narthex is our Sanctuary.  Ushers will greet you at the doors and provide you with a bulletin.

Step 4: Getting the 411 on CUC

In the bulletin you’ll find an order of worship and announcements that relate to our church community.  If you need assistance with anything, feel free to check back in with our ushers.  They are there to help you!  During worship we take a moment to welcome guests like you.  By letting us greet you, we are able to provide you with other information you may find relevant.

Step 5: Worship

If you are wondering when to stand up, sit down, sing, pray or listen, just follow the people around you.  We are a casual group so do not feel any pressure that you have to know what you are doing – none of us do!  Feel free to be yourself.  Truly, its the only way we know how to worship.

Step 6: Breakfast

Straight through the Narthex is Biel Hall.  Each Sunday we offer a delicious breakfast.  Come on in and enjoy a meal or just a cup of coffee over conversation with others at CUC.  There is a basket for donations on the serving counter, but let your first meal be on the house.
