Confirmation is an important ritual for our 8th and 9th grade young women and men. Through study, reflection, community building and fellowship, they explore the meaning of their emerging faith and its role within their lives. At the end of which, they have the opportunity to become members of Columbine United Church.

Since Christian faith is experienced and expressed within the context of community, the expectation is active participation and mandatory attendance of the Sunday morning Confirmation Classes and May Retreat along with the weekly youth group meetings and winter retreats. This will enable each young person to foster a deeper connection with their peers and develop a more complete understanding of what it means to be a CUC member.

A thematic approach is used to teach the Confirmation class. Here is a basic overview of the basic themes and discussion points.
