Music

The Band

Music at CUC is open to all. I think that all music can be a way to help with worship, a way to help get closer to God, a way to just hang out with God. During services, my intention always is to offer up the creative muse of music to help you get closer to yourself and to your relationship with God. You may not like a certain song, a certain style.. but hopefully, our music offerings are diverse enough that you can find one to resonate with.

I see music as the sweet potatoes, cranberries, and dinner rolls of the Thanksgiving Feast. The Scripture & Preaching as the Turkey (if you will). That always comes out sounding stranger than it does in my head. The Music to me in Worship is to help set the table for the main reason I believe in coming to church. To hear God’s word.

All the other music, special events, concerts are for not only our CUC Family but for the community and friends as well. I will do my best to allow CUC to be a place where artists can have a space to get to express their passion and gifts. Back in the day, a LONG time ago, the church was where great musical works were premiered. It was a gathering place for artists of all kinds to share what they had to offer. CUC is that place today. A place where artists can have a space to express themselves.

So whether it is Sunday morning Service, ITL, a special event … come on in, loosen your belt, kick off your shoes, sit and enjoy. Be inspired to meet God, hang out for a bit and follow your passion.
