Loaves & Fishes: Habitat for Humanity |
Mission and Outreach activities are a significant part of the overall Columbine Church programs. The Mission and Outreach Committee, operating under the guidance of the Church Council, has the responsibility for selecting, funding, and providing liaison with various local and world-wide groups and bringing the congregation into contact with their needs and volunteer opportunities. The Committee relies on the core values of the church for guidance in selecting those groups and activities which will be supported both on a one-time and continuing basis.
Local Mission
Columbine Church uses most of its local mission funds in support of 5 local groups. Each receives the same amount and is described below. Additional funds are used by the committee to assist with one-time or special needs as brought to the attention of the committee by members of the congregation or committee members. The Missions Committee regularly reviews the supported groups to see if their programs and operations still provide appropriate services that are in keeping with our vision and goals.
