VBS

Childrenslogo-1Children at CUC We like kids.  From Sunday morning breakfast every week to our monthly communion Sunday, children are an integral part of childrenthe life and faith of Columbine United Church.

Christian Education Our flagship Christian education programs are CREW, Crossroads Education Workshops, and Godly Play.  Both are Bible-based with a multi-intelligence approach to learning.  It is our joy to nurture the image and spirit of God in every child. CREW and Godly Play classes for PreK-5th grade meet on Sunday morning.  There is also a Godly Play class Monday evening.

Children’s Choir Do your children like to sing?  Children’s choir is a great place for kids to lift their voices, praise God and have fun.  Practices are once a week during the school year with performances during worship every six to eight weeks.

Hand Puppet Team This dramatic group allows kids in grades 1-5 with good reading skills to express themselves and explore their faith in plays with hand puppets.  Children practice weekly and perform at special events throughout the year.

JAM: Jesus ad Me For girls in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, JAM fosters faith development and Christian living.  Activities include games, crafts, service projects and field trips.  JAM meets once a month.

VBS Vacation Bible School is a highlight of our summer kids program.  A lively and fun-filled Bible-based theme is played out in songs, games, crafts, stories and snacks.  Our VBS is held in the morning for one week with a follow-up celebration on VBS Sunday.

Angel Bay Nursery More than babysitting, our nursery is a Christian care-giving ministry.  We provide a cheerful, safe and clean environment where children are nurtured and honored. Weather permitting, we spend time out of doors in our playground, which is fenced in and provides many play opportunities for children.  Caregivers are certified in Red Cross procedures and supported in their spiritual growth.
