Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is the committee in the church that is responsible for the planning of money matters.

In particular, the Finance Committee:

* Forecasts revenue based on the results of the annual stewardship drive and other factors,
* Prepares the annual budget for the church council,
* Prepares a salary administration budget for the Human Resources Committee,
* Monitors spending and revenue during the year, and recommends budget corrections when needed to the church council,
* Considers and acts upon recommendations for out-of-budget spending when funds are available,
* Supports other church departments and functions in financial planning for major undertakings such as the Youth Mission Trip and Building Improvements

The church Business Manager pays routine bills and processes regular payroll under the authority of and the direction of the Finance Committee and the Treasurer.

The Finance Committee meets monthly, usually at 12:15 PM on the second Sunday of the month, in the Business Manager’s office. Most meetings are open to visitors.

Standing members of the Committee are the President-Elect of the Council, the Treasurer, the Financial Secretary, and the Business Manager (who does not vote). The President-Elect chairs the committee. Other members are invited at the recommendation of the elected members.
